Retreats for individuals/small groups
The Community of All Hallows is situated in 47 acres of beautiful grounds, on the outskirts of the village of Ditchingham near the historic town of Bungay. We are approximately 12 miles south of Norwich on the B1332. Our grounds are designed to support quiet reflection and there are many delightful walks in the surrounding scenic countryside. On the site there are tennis courts, a playing field and, in the summer months, an open-air swimming pool for guest use.
The Sisters at the Community run four small Retreat Houses; three at Ditchingham and one in Norwich, which may be booked by individuals or small groups for a maximum stay of two weeks. We also organise a programme of retreats throughout the year. Please contact the Convent Secretary for further details of these.
We are an Anglican Religious Community, but our facilities are available to anyone who feels they would benefit from coming. Individually guided retreats, spiritual direction or a listening ear are available but we do not provide therapeutic or medical support. All visitors must be able to care for themselves or bring an appropriate carer with them. We are also unable to cater for young families.
Guests will need to bring their own soap and towels as these are not provided. Smoking is not permitted inside any building. All visitors are welcome to join the Sisters in Chapel for the Offices.
We also have a large Conference Centre (St Gabriel's) which is available, usually on a full-board basis, for use by groups such as parish and ecumenical groups, charities, businesses and schools for such purposes as retreats, quiet days, conferences, church/family fellowships and workshops. Both residential and day group bookings are accepted.
For further information on these facilities, please contact the Warden by email saint.gabriels@btinternet.com or telephone 01986 892133.
Jesus said,
Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Mt 11:28 – 30 NIV
