All Hallows Convent

All Hallows Convent is an Anglican Religious Woman's Community situated in 22 acres of beautiful grounds, on the outskirts of the village of Ditchingham near the historic town of Bungay. We are approximately 12 miles south of Norwich on the B1332 road.

Prayer is central to the life of our Community and it is that from which all-else flows. Times of silence within the Convent contribute towards a deeper atmosphere of prayer. We make time daily for personal prayer and spiritual reading. Together we worship in a pattern of four daily services, a daily Eucharist and regular periods of meditation. As Sisters we are involved in pastoral work, spiritual direction and welcoming guests and visitors.

Hospitality is at the forefront of our works. We offer welcome and support in our peaceful guesthouses and run a programme of spiritual workshops and Quiet Days throughout the year. In 2010 we offered a course sharing some of our experience of prayer. This became a four-part series of Saturday quiet days under the title ‘Teach us to pray'. Based on the interest in that course we ran a Quiet Day at Ditchingham in July 2011 for beginners in prayer. Please see our programme of retreats to see if there is something for you, or get in touch to explore options for personal spiritual direction and accompaniment. Retreat Programme

We are always pleased to share the rhythm of our life with any who are interested - so why don't you come and see!

Visitors are very welcome to join the us at any of our chapel services, including the Saturday Eucharist at 9.30 a.m. and Sunday Eucharist at 10.00 a.m. Most services are held in St Michael's House chapel.

If you wish to attend a service and you want to check details please telephone 01986 895749.

The Ditchingham site has a Day Nursery registered with OFSTED to take up to 30 children at any one time.

We have a large Conference Centre next door to the Convent (Belsey Bridge Conference Centre) which is run by the Christian Conference Trust and is available for use by groups such as parish and ecumenical groups, charities, businesses and schools for such purposes as retreats, quiet days, conferences, church/family fellowships and workshops.

In addition the Community founded and supports All Hallows Healthcare Trust, which provides a unique complex of local healthcare services, consisting of residential care at All Hallows Nursing Home and community hospital and day care services at All Hallows Hospital.

We are delighted to have Emmaus Norwich as our newest neighbour. We look forward to the new Emmaus Community taking root and flourishing.
