Facilities

Under 2s room
Providing a separate space and a quieter environment for the younger children, this room is well equipped with books and toys for the under-twos.  It has an adjoining sleep room with 6 cots so babies can maintain their regular sleeping patterns whilst at the nursery.

It is staffed by two fully qualified and experienced nursery nurses.  Play activities in this room include dancing, songs and rhymes, puzzles, treasure baskets and stories.  A variety of textures and equipment are available to allow young children to explore using all the senses.

2 - 5 years room
This area is specifically for the older children and is staffed by three full time nursery nurses, all qualified in early years care and education.

When joining this room, each child is assigned to a specific member of staff who becomes the child's key-worker for the duration of their time at the nursery.

The room is well equipped for play and educational needs, covering the six areas of learning as recommended by OFSTED.  Children are encouraged to explore and investigate new activities as well as experiencing structured activities and daily routines.

Indoor play area
There is a room within the building designated for large physical play activities, ensuring that children enjoy physical play in all weathers.

This area is equipped with ride on toys, a mini trampoline and a slide. The room is also used for dance, exercise activities and ring games.  Children develop their imagination and creativity through arts, craft, music and role play.

Garden
As well as walks around the grounds, the nursery also has an outside play area. Children have lots of space to play and can enjoy balancing bars and tyre climbing, as well as the usual slides and sandpits.

Outside the main nursery door is a small allotment, where together the staff and children grow flowers and vegetables.

Dining room
The nursery has a separate dining area for the children to eat lunch and tea.  A two course nutritious hot lunch is freshly prepared on site and served at midday.  Sandwiches are served at 4pm.  All dietary needs are catered for.  The menu is displayed on the notice board for parents, and we are always open to further recipe suggestions.

We also provide breakfast for children arriving first thing in the morning, a mid-morning snack at about 10am, and an afternoon snack at about 2.30pm.
