Vocation
The Community is open to any woman over the age of 21 who wishes to join and whom the Community is happy to receive. There is an informal ‘getting to know each other' stage before anyone joins us - entering is a big step and not one to be taken lightly. Anyone who comes will first be known as a Postulant, a time between 4 months and a year when she lives with the Community, joining in its life before taking the next step and becoming a Novice. A Novice wears the habit and is trained in the Religious Life while working and living with the professed Sisters. During this time, she may leave or be asked to leave. The next step is to take Vows - but initially only for a 3 year period. Vows for Life are only taken after a time of searching to see if the individual has a vocation or not. Living the life without having a true vocation can lead to misery on both sides. However, a true vocation to the religious life enables an individual to deepen their commitment and love for God, while enabling them to ‘serve Christ in one another and love as He loves us.'
